A latest report has pegged China as the largest market in the world for iOS App Store revenue after it earned a record $1.7 billion in Q3 2016. This puts China ahead of US by more than 15%, and by 2020, it is projected to grow further. During Q3 aside from games, entertainment and social networking apps have seen the largest worldwide spike in revenue. Video streaming apps with localized preferences have had a particular impact on the way video content is consumed. Once more apps that focused on localizing were popular in Europe and Asia. In the coming years, newer revenue systems like in-app subscriptions would help categories other than game perform better at the App Store.

Just a few days ago, Google released a small update for its search engine on mobile. This new feature now enables mobile users to book a cab directly from Google search results page. The feature is available globally. According to the reports, if the app is not installed on your device, Google Search even displays a link to install the app on your phone. With this handy feature, booking cabs and comparing prices would become lot easier.
iPod turns 15
Last week, on October 23rd, the revolutionary iPod turned 15 and the web was abuzz with articles on it. Being an iconic product that set the gold standard for design, iPod also gave way to the App Store we have today. However, in the year 2015, the company announced that it would stop reporting its iPod sales.
Even though, the company website doesn’t list it anymore, the iPod was once a thing of pride and joy for Apple and also the precursor of the much loved iPhone.
