Tweets fly back into Google search results

Google and Twitter announced a partnership to display tweets in search results, renewing a tie-up that ended in 2011. This move could help Twitter increase user engagement following a period of slack growth and will benefit Google in getting real-time search results in its search queries. The deal will commence with search results within the Google app and mobile web.

Apple buys Coherent Navigation

Apple has acquired Coherent Navigation, a high precision GPS firm founded in 2008. A number of key employees of Coherent including the former CEO Paul Lego have reportedly started working at Apple. Coherent’s system is believed to be much more precise than the “consumer grade” GPS systems, and this acquisition will reportedly better the much criticized Apple Maps.

Games may be coming to Facebook Messenger

According to reports, Facebook is preparing to include games within Messenger. The plan is in its initial stage and discussions are on with developers. However, it didn’t disclose any specific release date. The move is expected to help Facebook increase user engagement and revenue by introducing this feature on Messenger.

Google developing ‘Brillo’ OS for Internet of Things

Internet search giant, Google is apparently developing a new operating system codenamed “Brillo”, which is expected to be released under Android brand. This can work on devices even without a functional screen. Aimed at ultra low-power “Internet of Things” devices, the OS will require just 32MB or 64MB of RAM to run successfully.
