The lines between digital, mobile, technology and apps are blurring in today’s world. We at Robosoft are keen followers of developments in this arena. Here’s a quick summary of what’s buzzing:
Apple announces bug bounty program
Last week, Apple announced its first-ever bug bounty program that will award up to $200,000 to researchers who discovered vulnerabilities in its products. Apple is one of the last major tech companies to launch such a program. While for now, the new program is invite-only, Apple plans to slowly expand the program. It is scheduled to officially launch in September.
Instagram announces Stories
Instagram has launched a new Snapchat-like video and photo feature called ‘Stories’. This new feature lets users share multiple photos and videos in a slideshow format that disappear after 24 hours. As the demographics of Snapchat and Instagram are beginning to overlap, the companies are now looking for new ways to increase user engagement and drive better ad revenues.
LinkedIn introduces 30-second videos
After its recent acquisition, LinkedIn has just unveiled a new feature where more than 500 influencers on LinkedIn will share their thoughts on trending professional topics and news in a 30-second video. The new content format would be easy to consume and share. With industry insights and unique career and productivity-based content, LinkedIn could be a major source of knowledge transfer and interaction with popular figures, which isn’t available elsewhere.
